Post-doctoral position for MS based proteomics (m/f/d)

You will be responsible for

  • Development of highly sensitive and reproducible mass spectrometry-based assays for the quantitative detection of selected proteins in human/mouse biopsy material and plasma
  • Development of quality control steps improving quantification results 
  • Integration and improvement of Data Independent Acquisition (DIA) methodology to handle clinical samples as well as experimental animals
  • Statistical analysis of generated data and communication within an interdisciplinary team in the SFB 1116 made up of people working in natural-, life- and computer sciences as well as medicine
  • Coordination, planning, documentation and execution of all analyses
  • Reporting, presentation and discussion of complex results to/with team members and cooperation partners
  • Presentation of the results in the form of scientific publications as well as posters and lectures at national and international meetings
  • Acquisition of third-party funding projects (e.g. DFG)

Your profile

  • University degree and PhD in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, medical biology or a related field
  • In depth knowledge in the field of mass spectrometry/proteomics
  • Safe handling of software for data evaluation (e.g. Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, Spectronaut, etc.)
  • Knowledge in the field cardiovascular diseases diseases is of advantage
  • Additional knowledge in metabolomic analysis or single-cell proteomics is beneficial
  • Structured and analytical way of working
  • Team player with excellent communication skills

The salary will be according to the German TV-L. The full time position position is offered until end of the funding period SFB1116. The position is available immediately. The time limitation of the contract is based on the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
